AgChoice Farm Credit is currently recruiting for a Tax Assistant for our Martinsburg or York branch. This position is located in the branch and serves primarily as in-office support for Accounting staff members. Their focus is on providing in-office and tax preparation support, building strong customer relationships and promoting and supporting the accounting related services to improve customer success. They are responsible for providing administrative support to other Accounting staff and assisting with tax preparation services.
Provides assistance with tax preparation services during tax season (January-April)
Provides administrative support with year-end tax mailings, assembly of customer tax return packages, and tracking and e-filing of tax returns, etc.
Supports tracking of customer service provided and associated billing.
Responsible for digitizing documents to build electronic customer files for accounting staff.
Completes basic office functions including supply ordering, mailings, report processing and other office assignments as needed.
Consistent, timely and accurate delivery of services within association standards as provided in policies and procedures.
Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.
1-3 years of previous tax firm experience OR must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field at an accredited college or university.
Strong organization skills, problem solver, and be adaptable to prioritize job duties.
Must be able to meet strict deadlines in a timely manner.
Excellent communication, interpersonal relations, and customer service skills.
Demonstrates leadership qualities including mentoring and training.
Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the customers and association.
Superior knowledge of computer software applications.
