AgChoice Farm Credit is currently recruiting for a Tax Preparer for our Martinsburg or Butler branch office. This position is accountable for the delivery of financial services of high quality and value to customers within regulations set forth by the Farm Credit Administration, Internal Revenue Service and state and local taxing authorities as well as Association policies and procedures. With minimal supervision the incumbent is able to provide high value income tax preparation service to customers with a high level of quality and efficiency. As needed, this Accounting Officer position may provide payroll processing and record keeping services. This position is primarily intended to be up to 40 hours per week for the tax season (typically February 1 through April 15).
Delivers timely and accurate income tax preparation services to customers
Prepares tax returns with a variety of complexity
Provides administrative support for processing of tax returns, as needed
Applies knowledge of current tax laws in preparation of taxes to provide the best result for the customer
Provides compelling service to strengthen customer relationships by promptly responding to customer/prospect inquiries and requests
Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.
2-7 years of related accounting experience.
Solid knowledge of farm accounting principles and their application is preferred.
Strong analysis, judgment and communication, oral or written, skills.
Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serves the best interest of the association and customer.
Problem solving skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
Current awareness of economic developments, and productions technology affecting agriculture in the region.
A strong knowledge of computer software and hardware.
